Breaking news: Governor Newsom signs the Muñoz SAFE ACT

The Muñoz SAFE ACT- California AB 1651- 2023-2024

The Bill will help better protect students with food allergies on campus by doing the following:

1. Requiring Epinephrine Auto Injector (EIA) is to be stored in accessible and known locations for emergency use.

2. Notify all staff of the location of Epinephrine in an annual notice.

3. Requires schools to retain a physical copy of helpful instructional materials and best practices associated with the training near the site of the epinephrine.

4. Permits those with Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificates (engaged parents, afterschool programs, coaches, etc.- to be designated by school to receive training to administer epinephrine during emergency.
